'Identify and rush to treatment!' We are so heavily programmed along those lines that there seems to be no other possibility. Not for the doctor...not for the patient. There is no discussion, no middle ground, no common sense."

In the used car industry, it's called hardball selling.

So much easier to "make the sale" while the patient is overcome by emotions, with their cerebral cortex fully disengaged.
